17th Annual St. Jude's Benefit - Chandlerville
A St. Jude’s benefit is all about raising money for the research, treatment, and finding cures for children with cancer and other catastrophic diseases. The 17th annual Central Illinois Saddle-Up for St. Jude is a two day event, Friday & Saturday, June 9 & 10, at Jim Edgar Panther Creek Horse Park outside Chandlerville, IL. This event raised $57,000 last year for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and $576,000 over the past 16 years.
Friday, June 9, dinner will be served from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. with mouse races at 7:00p.m.
Events on Saturday, June 10, include food service. Breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 10:00 a.m. A pork chop dinner will be served throughout the day beginning at 11:00 a.m.
A live auction featuring a variety of merchandise will start at 3:00 p.m. The auction has always been an important part of the fundraiser and many local businesses routinely support it. All donations are welcome.St. Jude t-shirts, caps, etc. are sold throughout the weekend with three main fundraisers. Sponsorship tickets are $100, for every 15 tickets sold someone wins. First prize is a Browning Silver shotgun and the next winners receive $400. Raffle tickets are available for ½ a beef, processed to your order and for a cash drawing. Ticket holders need not be present to win. Auction and raffles held rain or shine! Ride as much or as little as you want. Bring a friend and come join the fun!
